Japan's period of rapid economic growth has finally come to and end, and has shifted towards to stable economic conditions in early 1970's. In 1978, Takeishi Electric Co., Ltd was founded with just a small shack close to the mountain.

40 years from that period....

From that period time, started off as a local factory, Takeishi Electric has been growing as time has gone by. Nowdays, our products are available not only in Japan, but in all over the world.

As we have changed, the world has also changed. We have gone through several economical turmoils such as Japan's economic buble burst, Lehman Brothers shock, and Euro crisis. And world economy slowed down significantly.

Our daily life has also changed drastically. Everything now is digitalized. People do not purchase music CD anymore, instead, people download music through internet. Instead of going to stores, people purchase goods through internet. Almost anything can be purchased through internet, and delivered very next day. peple read books and newspapers on smartphones, and when people run into difficult terminologies, people serch words in Wikipedia. We hear people often say, people nowdays lost "tenacity" towards to phisical "obsession" towards to "goods".

No more value in "goods"?

People need to eat food to live. People prefer to have cars to carry things. People need a light to see things in the night. People need a house to warm up themselves in a cold Winter night.

I personally think people have not changed. Yet, I feel technology that is supposed to improve our quality of life has changed the way how we live and how we value things.

People now are so used to getting daily necessities without any hardships. Food, cloths, house and everything is all around us.

We have a saying in Japan which goes "Reprimand by parent and Hot Sake knock Your parent preach and Hot Sake will knock your heart as time elapses."

Things or "goods" we take for granted are actually something that are supporting our lives, and make us feel comfortable or even happy. I often feel, these days, we have no respect to these things or "goods" we take for granted.

I think manufacturing is closely associated with people's daily life. Heart of manufacturing is to make something while showing deep consideration to people. Innovation and technology might have changed how people value things, yet we, as manufacturer, never forget something we make should support people's life somehow, somewhere.

Yes, we are still a small company, but we take pride in manufacturing things that are somewhat useful for other people, and I want Takeishi Electric to be like this no matter how the time and world change.
